Product Description
The XBJ Edge Milling Machine is a newly developed mechanical equipment by our company, incorporating the latest generation of milling and processing technology from abroad. It is widely used in industries such as boiler and pressure vessel manufacturing, shipbuilding, power generation, chemical engineering, petroleum engineering machinery, bridge construction, and metallurgical machinery. The machine is designed for milling the bevels of steel plates before welding, enabling one-time clamping for milling various edges such as beveled, straight, and V-shaped edges. This significantly improves efficiency and precision, with energy consumption reduced by over 70%. Equipped with standard domestic milling cutters, it can process thicknesses ranging from 6 to 50mm. Currently, it is the most ideal and advanced mechanical equipment for manufacturers in the pressure vessel, engineering machinery, bridge construction, and metallurgical machinery industries.
Features :
The machine tool structure is fabricated using welded steel plates. After the rough machining of the bed, the entire guide rail is ground to ensure the overall precision of the guide surface, meeting the accuracy requirements of the machine tool.
The edge milling machine features rotary motion for the main operation of the milling head and linear motion for the feed through a sliding plate. The milling head angle is adjustable as needed. It adopts a dual-drive, single-power-head structure, with one driving mechanism mounting a power head. This configuration allows simultaneous processing of the steel plate end face and the upper and lower bevels without the need to flip the plate, achieving one-time forming. Additionally, each milling head can be used independently.
Utilizing a fully hydraulic clamping mechanism to achieve automatic clamping functionality. The hydraulic system features dual-stage control, allowing for separate clamping as well as simultaneous clamping.
The hydraulic system of the machine tool comprises a hydraulic station, hydraulic piping system, and cylinder system, equipped with safety, environmental protection, and energy-saving features. All seals, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, oil valves, and pipelines in the hydraulic system use top-notch brand products. The arrangement of hydraulic pipelines is neat, robust, and rational, facilitating maintenance. The hydraulic system features good sealing and dust-proof devices, with effective oil filtration. Additionally, a safety protection device is incorporated into the hydraulic system to automatically stop the cutting stroke when the oil pressure does not reach the specified working pressure, preventing accidents caused by workpiece loosening.
Main configuration :
The main unit consists of a milling unit and the bed.
The milling unit is primarily composed of a movable body with a sliding table, a column rotary table, a tool feed system, and a milling power unit.
The large drag plate works in conjunction with the bed guide rail, with the front connecting to the tool feed system and the angle ruler sliding table. The tool feed system drives the large drag plate left/right to achieve the processing length. The angle ruler sliding table is connected to the column, and the cutting amount is adjusted by rotating the sliding table lead screw handle.
Column Rotary Table: The column rotary table is a cast component and it connected to the rotary table. The upper part of the column is equipped with a vertical lifting motor to adjust the height of the spindle box, and a manual lifting mechanism can also be used. The spindle box can be adjusted in angle using the rotary table.
Tool Feed System: It adopts a hard-toothed surface reducer, providing high torque and smooth operation. The motor uses a variable frequency motor to meet different milling travel speeds. The tool feed system is connected to the large drag plate, and through the engagement of output gears with the drag plate gear, the drag plate gear meshes with the bed rack, driving the drag plate to travel and complete the processing length.
Utilizing a specialized milling power head for the edge milling machine. The front part is connected to the milling cutter disc, and the spindle is equipped with a manual feed fine-tuning mechanism, facilitating user-friendly tool operations.
The milling unit adopts a dual-drive(also have single drive single power head , single drive dual power head ,dual-drive single power head , and dual-drive dual power head )single-power-head configuration, with one power head installed on each drive mechanism. This setup allows simultaneous milling of the upper and lower sides without the need to flip the steel plate.
Bed: The machine tool structure is fabricated using welded steel plates. After rough machining of the bed, the entire guide rail undergoes grinding to ensure the overall precision of the guide surface, meeting the accuracy requirements of the machine tool. The machine tool structure is compact, with a rack installed at the lower end of the upper guide rail. The tool feed box rotates the output gear, driving the large sliding table to move. Limit switches are installed at both ends of the bed to control the travel of the large drag plate. Protective measures, such as adding scrapers on both sides of the contact area between the transmission box and the guide rail, are implemented to prevent iron filings from causing damage.
Main beam:
The main beam consists of a large beam, hydraulic cylinder, and manual lead screw.
Large Beam: The upper pressure beam adopts the most advanced design and manufacturing process, utilizing an arc-shaped structure. It is fabricated from welded carbon steel plates, featuring a well-designed and structurally robust construction with high steel rigidity.
Hydraulic Cylinder + Manual Lead Screw: Installed beneath the large beam, it is used for clamping and securing the sheet material. It employs a combination of hydraulic and mechanical clamping.
Infeed/Outfeed Rack:
The use of an electric roller stand combined with an auxiliary material rack is employed to reduce the amount of manual handling during loading and unloading.
Hydraulic System:
The hydraulic system of the machine tool comprises a hydraulic station, hydraulic piping system, and cylinder system. It is equipped with safety, environmental protection, and energy-saving features. All seals, hydraulic pumps, cylinders, oil valves, and pipelines in the hydraulic system use top-notch brand products. The arrangement of hydraulic pipelines is neat, robust, and rational, facilitating maintenance.

Electrical equipment includes components:
Switchgear, control panel, terminal junction box, motors, measuring and positioning devices, electrical wires, and cables, etc form the necessary equipment, components, and suppliers for the electrical system of the individual machine. These are listed in the supply list.
The low-voltage switchgear unit is composed of the following parts.
The buyer is responsible for providing the main power supply up to the main incoming switch in the electrical switchgear supplied by the seller. The supplier is responsible for all other electrical equipment.
The main electrical components are selected from Omron or similiar brand products.
Lubricating system:
The bed guide rail, main transmission box, and feed box's transmission mechanisms all utilize automatic centralized pressure lubrication. Upon equipment startup, a lubricating oil plunger pump continuously injects oil into the guide rail. In the event of an oil shortage in the reservoir, an automatic alarm is triggered, causing the machine to stop working.
