This device is primarily used for the efficient processing of double-sided holes in structural components through drilling, boring, and milling operations. It is capable of achieving functions such as through-hole drilling, blind hole drilling, bore machining, milling, and tapping on workpieces. The two main spindles can simultaneously process both sides or operate independently. The machining process is digitally controlled, ensuring ease of operation. The machine enables automated, high-precision, and mass production of a variety of products.
Main features of the Twin Heads CNC Gantry Milling Boring Drilling Machine:
This equipment primarily consists of two-sided bed bodies, a rotary worktable, a movable column, CNC horizontal power head, automatic chip conveyor and cooling device, pneumatic system, electrical system, and tool magazine.
The major components such as the bed, column, and spindle box are all constructed from high-strength cast iron materials produced on a German resin sand production line. They undergo manual aging heat treatment and stress relief annealing to eliminate internal stresses. Finite element analysis is applied to effectively predict and optimize the static and dynamic performance of the machine tool, ensuring its performance is effectively guaranteed. This results in a high-performance-to-cost ratio.
The bed base is constructed using high-strength cast iron material HT250 produced on a German resin sand production line, providing excellent mechanical and thermal stability. It features a thin-walled, multi-ribbed structure, ensuring a compact design and high rigidity of the machine tool. After manual aging heat treatment and stress relief annealing, internal stresses are eliminated, resulting in optimal dynamic and static rigidity.
The bed is distributed on both sides of the worktable, and the vertical (X-axis) movement of the mobile column relies on the bed-mounted sliding saddle. The X-axis movement is facilitated by high-load linear roller guide pairs and precision ball screw pairs horizontally arranged on the bed. The drive system utilizes a servo motor. The dual-sided synchronous drive ensures the parallel movement of the mobile column, maintaining perpendicularity of the Y-axis to the X-axis at any position. Adjustable bolts are distributed on the bottom surface of the bed, allowing convenient adjustment of the bed and worktable's level.
The Moving column is constructed using high-strength cast iron material HT250 produced on a German resin sand production line, providing excellent mechanical and thermal stability. It features a thin-walled, multi-ribbed structure, ensuring a compact design and high rigidity of the machine tool, with stress relief through annealing. The left and right mobile columns are symmetrically mounted on the cross slide. On the horizontal arrangement of the cross slide on the bed, there are high-load linear roller guide pairs and precision ball screw pairs, driven by a servo motor, enabling the forward and backward feed motion of the mobile column (Z-axis).
Two ultra-high load-bearing linear roller guide pairs are installed in the vertical direction on the front side of the column. Above them, there is a precision ball screw pair and an AC servo motor, allowing the vertical movement of the spindle power box along the column (Y-axis). The horizontal power head is installed in the middle on the front face of the column.
The CNC cross slide is driven by a servo motor and ball screw for the forward and backward movement, enabling actions such as rapid approach, cutting feed, rapid retract, and stop of the power head. The CNC cross slide is driven by a servo motor on the bed for left and right movement, facilitating actions such as rapid approach, cutting feed, and stop of the column.
The boring and milling power head utilizes a dedicated servo motor for the main spindle. The power is transmitted to the spindle through a GTP dual-speed gearbox, enabling automatic gear shifting to achieve seamless servo speed control. This system offers both low-speed high torque and a wide constant power range, allowing for high-speed machining as well as low-speed heavy-duty milling. It can withstand heavy cutting loads and is suitable for high-speed machining with hard alloy tools.
The high-speed power head spindle features a BT50 taper hole and is equipped with a butterfly spring automatic tool clamping mechanism. The spindle box is equipped with a tool loosening cylinder (pneumatic-hydraulic boost) for convenient tool changes. The power head is mounted on the CNC cross slide on the column, moving up and down with the slide.
This equipment features a rotary worktable with a tabletop dimension of 2000×2500mm. The indexing angle is 90°, and the indexing precision is 10 arc seconds. The tabletop is equipped with several T-slots, each having a width of 28mm, allowing for the installation of dedicated fixtures or direct clamping of workpieces.
This machine tool is equipped with an external water cooling system. The chip conveyor is equipped with a cooling pump, and its outlet is connected to the cooling fluid universal nozzle fixed on the side of the power head spindle with a rubber hose. The cooling pump circulates to provide cooling for the main spindle.
This machine tool is equipped with an automatic lubrication system that can automatically lubricate various motion pairs, such as guides and ball screws. Lubricating oil is periodically injected into the linear guide slider, screw nut of the screw pair, and various rolling bearings to ensure thorough and reliable lubrication. This eliminates the need for tedious manual operations and enhances the lifespan of various components. The lubrication pump station and components use high-quality products from well-known domestic manufacturers.
Dust and splash-proof covers are installed on both the X-axis and Y-axis of the machine tool to prevent cutting fluid from splashing into the interior, protecting the guides and ball screws from wear and corrosion.
This equipment is equipped with two disc-type tool magazines, each containing 24 tools, specifically designed for automatic tool changing on the two main spindles. The tool magazines are installed on one side of the column, enabling rapid and efficient tool changes. The system ensures stability, smooth operation with minimal noise, and short tool-changing times.
This machine tool employs the FANUC 0i-MF CNC system, which controls the movement of two X-axes, Y-axes, Z-axes, as well as the rotation and positioning of the main spindle and worktable. Electronic handwheels are provided on both sides for convenient manual operation. It is equipped with an RS232 interface and an LCD display screen. The user-friendly interface includes features such as human-machine dialogue, error compensation, and automatic alarms.
The X and Y axes feature coordinated motion, and the Z-axis has tapping functionality. The system utilizes semi-closed-loop control, enabling linear and circular interpolation. After setting the distance, it engages rapid traverse until contact with the workpiece, automatically switching to cutting feed. Upon completing the machining through the workpiece, it automatically switches to rapid retract, realizing an automatic feed cycle. The work feed speed is adjustable through CNC settings.
The machine tool's logic control is implemented using an integrated PLC control within the system, allowing for fault detection and alarms, with the alarm interface displayed in English.
The electrical cabinet of the machine tool is fully enclosed, equipped with a temperature control device, and features protective measures.
